POSITION SUMMARY:
Cost Analyst is a self-motivated, highly organized, analytical, problem solving individual and is detail oriented and functions well in a high paced, high mix manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer

BUSINESS HOURS : 8AM to 4.30PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Gather, compile, analyze and report on production information
• Ensure standard product cost system is maintained and that changes are processed in an accurate and timely manner
• Plan, collect and analyze data to determine cost of business activity
• Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effect on cost
• Inspect actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Ensure costs are classified accurately
• Examine audits of costs, preparing reports and creating cost-benefit analysis for changing vendors
• Develop costing models for new and existing products
• Support Sales & marketing with completion of customer quotation files & validation of actual costs to produce
• Analyze variances from standard
• Ensure accuracy of gross profit pricing models
• Assist with preparation of year end working papers
• Support trimester customer and vendor pricing updates
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2-3 years of Cost Accounting or Analyst experience within a Manufacturing environment
• Familiar with costing models for manufactured products
• Well-developed financial analysis capabilities
• Skilled at identifying and recommending cost-effective solutions
• Confident reporting and consulting on financial information to all levels of Management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Highly proficient utilizing Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Able to maintain professional behaviors including confidentiality
• Adhere to company policies and procedures
• Previous use of Visual Manufacturing an asset
