Summary
Reporting to the the building manager, the Supervisor is accountable for the timely and efficient completion of all inbound and outbound activities in a productive and safe manner. The individual will be responsible for the supervision, coordination and effective scheduling of workers to meet daily operational KPI’s. Responsibilities include coaching and training staff on daily duties, safety procedures and company policies, as well as the identification and correction of potential workflow bottlenecks and health and safety concerns.

Job Duties
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule all worker’s activities
• Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are followed and that Key Performance Indicators are achieved by the team
• Plan and actively monitor the progress of daily activities for areas of responsibility
• Train staff on all job duties, safety procedures and company policies
• Assess employees using approved performance management processes and coaching techniques, while providing fair and consistent feedback
• Perform system and clerical duties required for the completion of daily workload
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with employees
• Ensure workers understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Identify, investigate, correct and document potential safety concerns
• Investigate accidents, complete accident reports and ensure preventive actions are implemented
• Resolve work issues and recommend measures to improve productivity
• Identify areas of improvement in support of Operational Excellence initiatives in collaboration with the DC Manager
• Quality function entails the items listed below:
o QA pallet investigation and put away.
o PROB investigations.
o Cycle count of aisles/SKUs.
o Claims.
o Holds.
o Pick lane checks.-Cleanliness/Adherence to layout
• Interface with employees and DC Manager to ensure full knowledge of daily activities for both employees and managers
• Requisition materials and supplies from DC Manager
• Work with other shifts supervisors to ensure correct staffing levels and compliance with policies and procedures are maintained
• Coverage for other supervisor’s vacations and absences
• Conduct daily tailgates with employees
• Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions
• Update all personnel payroll and vacation records accurately and in a timely fashion
• Act as a front-line hands-on leader willing and capable to coach and support staff with the completion of daily inbound and outbound activities when needed
• Be familiar with better inventory control management practices and concepts
• Manage all Material Handling Equipment safety and compliance
• Follow the standard practices related to food safety and food defence policies along with GMP’s and GHP standards and ensure it is adhered to by warehouse staff
• Participate in training and comply with the requirements of SQF Code, Food Safety and Quality Policy Statement, HACCP Prerequisite Programs, Food Safety Finished Product Handling, Good Manufacturing Practices / Good Distribution Practices, Reporting Food Safety Incidents and related food safety and quality training as well ensuring compliance for direct/indirect reports
• Performs other duties as required

Physical Demands
• Ability to operate lift equipment
• Must be able to push, pull and lift in excess of 30 pounds

Education/Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• A certificate or diploma in a related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience with demonstrated motivating, training and general supervisory skills
