Responsibilities:

• Continually analyze manufacturing process for the enhancement of safety, quality, cost reduction, and throughput
• Apply lean manufacturing concepts in order to improve efficiency by reducing process waste, variation and inflexibility
• Support CIT meetings, production improvement, capital planning and manufacturing processes
• Develop, evaluate, improve and document manufacturing processes
• Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, including related fixtures and tooling that are consistent in producing high quality products with improved cycle times
• Coordinate implementation of ECNs in manufacturing department
• Create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings, and design concepts in accordance with the engineering and quality assurance functions
• Provide engineering support in production department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
• Support Quality Assurance with the investigation and resolution of customer concerns and product non-conformance
• Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of assigned projects
• Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects
• Prepare engineering project proposals
• Budget monitoring and trend tracking
• Procurement of equipment and tooling essential to effective operation of the department
• All other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manufacturing Industrial Engineer

Qualification & Experience:

• Must be technically strong and have a solid understanding of mechanical, electronic assembly and painting process
• Strong problem solving, project management skills
• Project management experience, with the ability to prioritize work with teams and manage activities to a schedule as a critical requirement to the position
• Must be very familiar with principles of Lean Manufacturing
• Must be a self-starter and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Poses excellent organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications and CAD software
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience presenting and speaking in front of a group or meeting
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a Community College or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 5-10 years Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering experience
• Green/black belt in Six Sigma desirable
• Good working knowledge of OHSA and ISO 9001 Systems
• Good working knowledge of manufacturing ERP Systems
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft and CAD Software
• Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis training and experience
• Lean Manufacturing training and experience
